Small acts, big dreams – Community-building as a mindset Panel
Friday, September 24th, 2021
1 - 3pm
Emera Innovation Exchange
There’s a lot to learn from nature, and the lessons for us humans are invaluable. Trees communicate their needs with each other and send vital nutrients to their neighbours via the ground’s fungal network. This is an example of community building in action. It’s also a mindset you can harness to take on challenges and set goals, activate growth and new ideas and forge relationships that are meaningful and co-beneficial to all parties. Learn about the various ways to reimagine your projects and endeavours through the lens of community.

What’s Next? Circus in a Post-Pandemic World Panel
Saturday, September 25th, 2021
1 - 3pm
Emera Innovation Exchange
Has the big top been turned upside down? Probably not, but it’s undeniable that a shift has occurred in performing arts. When the world shut down, artists did what they’ve always done -they stepped outside of their comfort zone, finding new ways to create, engage with, and inspire audiences. What are the lessons learned for the Circus from Covid? What new tools and ways of thinking will we carry forward to define what the future of our craft will look like?

WORKSHOPS
Online workshop (EnPiste: Gonzalo from HUB Studio)
This workshop offers circus artists a participatory overview of different ways to integrate technology into performance projects. In a world where technology is constantly evolving, experts from the HUB multimedia design studio share their knowledge of new creative technologies. The workshop will break them down and offer a new range of creative possibilities and tools to artists. In addition, they will examine the vocabulary invovled, equiping artists to better communicate with designers and specialists about new technologies during projects.
This workshop is designed for circus artists and is offered online on Zoom.

Kim and Guyom : parents-kids portée
Kimberly and Guillaume will show you how to do Acrobatic Lifts with your family members, in the comfort of your home. Your children will be thrilled to climb on you, a big brother or sister! The Dads will enjoy showing off their strength and the whole family will be proud in the end, of the amazing human pyramids they have built together! Who knows? You might become, thanks to them, the first generation of a future circus family dynasty!
